Living near the Wekiva
The Wekiva area takes its name from the Wekiva River and Wekiwa Springs State Park — the park uses the “Wekiwa” spelling, and the river and road use “Wekiva.” The river is a protected Outstanding Florida Water and a National Wild and Scenic River, so much of the surrounding land stays green.
Homes here tend to sit on larger, tree-covered lots in established neighborhoods along Wekiva Springs Road, with golf, tennis and private communities that feel far from the city while staying close to I-4 and SR 429.
The area straddles two counties, which affects schools and taxes. We confirm both for every address.
